Babe's head smells similar vomit

I used coconut oil on my infant'due south head to get rid of cradle cap and brushed it off yesterday... Not thinking annihilation of it last night i could smell vomit off his head. I gave him a bath this morning and just used water like normal. I could still olfactory property it afterwards so I gave him another bath and used baby shampoo... I couldn't stand the odor.. Low and behold the odour is still in that location, so I've googled it and found other posts from people with the same situation but no resolution. And then my question is if anyone has experienced this how long did it last and how did you get rid of this horrible stink? 😭

Have you checked under baby's neck and behind ears? My first used to get milk and slobber stuck in her cervix rolls and it was smelly. This baby for some reason gets stinky behind her ears. I couldn't figure it out and then ane day I smelled her ears and swiped my finger behind them and omg. We have to make clean back there daily.

@MinnieMoMama,

Yeah, I cleaned everywhere during the get-go bath 😅 and the smell is just very stiff where the oil was 😌

It takes a couple of days/baths for all the Coconut oil to go out and cease smelling. It'southward the simply time I use shampoo for LO is after cradle cap treatment with Coconut

My babe smelled bad when had cradle cap information technology took around 2-3weeks to get dorsum to normal

I used cetaphil oil. It smells good for at to the lowest degree few hrs with that

Now cradle cap is almost gone

hmm I utilize coconut oil and then aveeno shampoo... nearly nightly... and infant smells adept... like coconut oil.

It's the cradle cap that stinks 😷 ugh it's and so gross, i used JoJoba oil...? Perhaps you would have more luck with a mineral oil rather than coconut oil. Just a idea. Ours still took about 2 weeks to clear up and hubby still uses the brush on his caput during bathroom just in case

@RS0042,

Well he'southward had it for a while and I commonly use olive oil and that's neat only didn't have any and thought I'd endeavor it.. It never usually smells so it was definitely the coconut that caused it. Just hoping the smell will get after a few washes. He has a slight bit of ezcema then I don't usually like to bath him too much but I suppose I'll have to. 😌

No advice but I had the same thing happen when I used kokosnoot oil, so back to olive oil it is!

My ped really said that y'all tin can use a little scrap of head and shoulders for cradle cap and so I've done that when he starts to get a little fleck and it goes abroad immediately and no stink.

Could be his ears... my daughter is a lot smeller than my boy was lol! She's got some ear goo and she'due south just a lot chubbier. So when I'm feeding her sometimes her cervix rolls concur in the drips of milk and start to smell a couple hours later on.

Yes it's the kokosnoot oil! Happened to me too, takes a few days to get away 🤢
